Saurabh Malik Tribune News Service Chandigarh, March 16 The Justice Mehtab Singh Gill commission of inquiry has recommended the cancellation of sedition case against SAD (A) president Simranjit Singh Mann after recording his statement that he was "implicated at the behest of former Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal. Act against Majithia, Cong men tell Capt

Tribune News Service Chandigarh, March 17 Pressure is once again building up on Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh to act against former minister and senior Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia for his alleged role in the drugs case. A day after Local Bodies Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu claimed that the Special Task Force (STF) had, in its report, prime facie found evidence against Majithia in the drug trade, former PPCC chief and Rajya Sabha MP Partap Bajwa said: “We have enough evidence and the time is ripe to take him into custody.” “Before every election, we had stated that Sukhbir and Majithia will be punished for ruining Punjab. If we don’t act now, the people of Punjab won’t trust us in the parliamentary elections. Punishing someone for a crime is serving...

Hours before split, AAP-LIP ‘chargesheet’ against govt

Tribune News Service Chandigarh, March 16 Leader of the Opposition Sukhpal Khaira said here today that at least 374 farmers and farm labourers had committed suicide since the Capt Amarinder Singh government took over a year ago. This fact belies the Congress’ pre-poll promise of writing off debt of all affected farmers, Khaira said at a press conference jointly organised by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) leaders. The two parties released a ‘chargesheet’ against the Congress government, hours before the LIP decided to withdraw support to AAP. The government has waived only 0.33 per cent (Rs 332.16 crore) of the debt of Rs 1 lakh crore, Khaira added. On the drug menace, Khaira said the situation was the same as during the SAD-BJP rule despite Capt Amarind...

AAP-LIP Chargesheet against Punjab Government

CHANDIGARH: As we are aware, Capt. Amarinder Singh assumed office of Chief Minister on 16th March 2017 exactly one year ago today after the Congress party romped home with 77 seats, riding a wave based on lofty promises to the electorate. Unfortunately, a careful perusal of his government’s one year performance brings to fore a completely different Capt. Amarinder Singh, than what was marketed to the people by India’s professional political brand seller “P.K” (Prashant Kishor). This time around the once “Panniyan Da Rakha” (savior of waters) is a tired, beleaguered and a captive (controlled by babus) Chief Minister, inaccessible not only to the people but his own Minister’s and MLA’s.
