Eldest member of Badal family dies of cardiac arrest

Tribune News Service Muktsar, July 8 The eldest member of the Badal family, Harbans Kaur (95), ‘chachi’ (aunt) of former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal passed away at Chandigarh on Sunday due to cardiac arrest. The body is being brought to Badal village and cremation will be held tomorrow. She was the wife of late former MP Gurraj Singh Badal. Her son Major Bhupinder Singh was political secretary to CM during the 2012-17 SAD-BJP government.  The Tribune

Tribune News Service Jalandhar, June 5 Veteran Akali leader and former Nakodar MLA Kuldip Singh Wadala (86) passed away on Tuesday following a cardiac arrest. A former SGPC general secretary, he was a sitting member of the Sikh body. He is survived by four sons and three daughters. His son Gurpartap Wadala is Nakodar MLA while his son-in-law Arvinder Bains is an IAS officer. Though Wadala contested at least four times, he became MLA only once in 1985 defeating his cousin and Congress leader Umrao Singh. KLF chief Harminder Mintoo dies of ‘cardiac arrest’ in Patiala jail; probe ordered

Tribune News Service Patiala, April 18 Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) chief Harminder Singh Mintoo died of 'cardiac arrest' here on Wednesday evening, officials of Patiala Central Jail where he was lodged said.  ADGP (Prisons) Inderpreet Singh Sahota has recommended a judicial inquiry into the death of Mintoo. He said Mintoo felt uneasy before appearing in a video-conference in an ongoing case trial. He had undergone the video conferencing at 2 pm in a case registered against him in Jalandhar and was in his cell when he suffered a cardiac arrest. The jail doctors treated him before he was rushed to Rajindra Hospital. Mintoo was lodged in the Patiala jail from past over a year. KLF chief dies of ‘cardiac arrest’ in jail

Tribune News Service Patiala, April 18 Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) chief Harminder Singh Mintoo died under mysterious circumstances at the Central Jail here on Wednesday. He was accused of having links with Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and was facing trial in at least 15 cases of terror and other crimes. Sufi singer Pyare Lal Wadali dies of cardiac arrest

Tribune News Service Amritsar, March 9 Pyare Lal Wadali, the younger brother of Sufi singer Puran Chand Wadali of the Wadali brothers, died of cardiac arrest in a hospital here on Friday. He was 75. The singer is survived by wife, two sons and three daughters. Pyale Lal was admitted to the hospital on Monday following complaint of chest pain. He was put on ventilator support after his condition deteriorated but he could not be revived. The cremation will be held at their ancestral village Wadali.
