War memorials galore, yet battlefield tourism in limbo

Vikramdeep Johal Tribune News Service Chandigarh, March 11 Punjab has been a major theatre of war since time immemorial, bearing the brunt of countless invasions. However, the state’s potential in the field of battlefield tourism remains untapped. It’s only in the past decade that several government-commissioned war memorials have come up, including the Punjab State War Heroes’ Museum in Amritsar, Wadda and Chhota Ghallughara monuments in Sangrur and Gurdaspur districts, respectively, and the Baba Banda Bahadur Memorial at Chappar Chiri (Mohali).
