Punjab Government appoints Dr. Balkar Singh as Director Vishav Punjabi Centre Society

The Punjab Government has appointed Dr. Balkar Singh S/o Late Mr. Shingara Singh as the Director of Vishav Punjabi Centre Society, Punjabi University Patiala. This appointment has been made for five years. Disclosing this official spokesperson of the Higher Education and Languages Department said that the terms and conditions of the appointment would be issued by Governing Council of Vishav Punjabi Centre Society later on.

HC tells Punjab Police to contact Kerela counterparts on body cameras

Saurabh Malik Tribune News Service Chandigarh, May 18 CHANDIGARH: For third-eye surveillance on police patrolling parties and other cops, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has asked Punjab Director-General of Police to telephonically contact his counterpart in Kerala or any other senior police officer there for obtaining information on body cameras. The direction came less than a week after the Bench made it clear that it was in favour of body cameras being provided to all patrolling parties for monitoring the apprehension of criminals, especially in drug matters, to prevent false implication. The Chandigarh Police have already supplied body cameras to its challaning officers, while counsel for the State of Haryana has sought time to place on record the report of a committee...

Capt Amarinder, Jakhar lead Punjab Congress delegation to submit memorandum to president against Karnataka Governor
