AAP MLA lays stone of washroom in girls’ school

Tribune News Service Sangrur, March 8 Sunam MLA Aman Arora today laid the foundation stone of a washroom at Government Primary School for Girls, Dhadrian village, Sunam. The Aam Aadmi Party legislator said it was disheartening to see that even after decades of independence, schools in the state were deprived of necessary facilities like washrooms. He said during a meeting with some NRI families a few months back, he urged them to help build washrooms in the girls’ schools. The NRIs immediately agreed to provide financial help for the cause and the foundation of the first project was laid at Dhadrian village, said Arora, who is also the state co-president of the AAP. Adarsh School caught in legal tangle, to be shut

Kulwinder Sandhu Tribune News Service Moga, March 6 The Punjab Education Development Board (PEDB) has decided to close down Adarsh School at Pathrala village in the Sangat block of Bathinda district from this academic session. The development came to light from an affidavit filed by Parshant Kumar Goyal, Director General of School Education (DGSE)-cum-Member Secretary of PEDB, in the Punjab and Haryana High Court today. Residents of Pathrala village had filed a public interest litigation in the High Court demanding from the state government to construct the building of Adarsh School as it was operating from a “dharamshala” and the students had to sit under sheds. Sports School Ghudda student bags laurel in national level games

BATHINDA: Student of Sports School Ghudda basketball player Mani Singh has won gold medal in the Khelo India School Games and brought laurels to the state and school.  Held at Delhi, the Khelo India School Games saw participation of eight best teams of the country. Playing on behalf of his team, Mani Singh played instrumental role in victory of his team. He has been selected among 16 best players of the country.
