Revenue stamps deadlock continues even after 14 years

Nakodar: The Punjab government has failed to break the deadlock between its revenue department and postal authorities over the sale of revenue stamps of the denomination of Rs.1 through post offices. Post offices across Punjab had stopped selling revenue stamps since February 2005, demanding their commission to be hiked from 3% to 6%. However, the revenue department refused to accept the demand and wrote to the Centre to intervene, but to no avail.

Meeting with Education Minister ends in deadlock

Exams nearing, deadlock over furniture continues

Parvesh Sharma Tribune News Service Sangrur, February 28 The local La Foundation School (LFS) wrote to the CBSE Chairman today that Army Public School (APS) — the exam centre designated by the board — should arrange the required furniture on rent. Two days ago, the Army school authorities had asked LFS to arrange furniture for the latter’s 80-odd students. Otherwise, they would have to sit on the floor (mats). Examinations for Class X will start on March 12. “Today, I got a call from Hoshiar Singh from the CBSE office, Panchkula. He asked me to cooperate with APS, but I clarified that I do not have the required furniture,” said Yogesh Garg, Director, LFS. In his email to the CBSE Chairman today, Garg has stated that the APS authorities have set a deadline of March 3 for them to provide the
