Rs. 27.10 crore distributed to over one lakh beneficiaries till 31st July under PMMVY: Aruna Chaudhary

"The Social Security and Women & Child Development Department, Punjab, provides the financial assistance of Rs. 5000 in three installments to the pregnant women and the breast feeding women on the birth of their first child under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojna (PMMVY). Owing to the awareness campaign being run by the Punjab Government, desirous results have started trickling in. Till 31st July, 2018 a total of 1,06,709 eligible beneficiaries have availed the benefit under the scheme and an amount of Rs. 27.10 crore has been credited directly into their bank accounts through online mode." This was disclosed here today in a press communiqué by the Social Security and Women & Child Development Minister, Punjab, Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary.

Punjab all set to organise first of its kind International job fair at Mohali on July 30

Ludhiana: The Punjab government is all geared up for organising first of its kind International Job Fair in the country. The Punjab government is organising this event in collaboration with the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, National Skills Development Corporation and Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council at Government College, Mohali on July 30, 2018.

Rotational Irrigation programme from July 20 to 27

Chandigarh: The Punjab Irrigation Department has announced the Rotational Programme of irrigation for the Kharif Season through canals from July 20 to July 27, 2018. The channels of Sirhind Canal System would run on the priority basis from Bathinda Branch, Bist Doab Canal, Sidhwan Branch, Patiala Feeder and Abohar Branch respectively.

International job fair to be held at Mohali on July 30

Ludhiana: The Punjab Government would provide jobs to about 8500 youth of the state during the first of its kind ‘International Job Fair’ in the country. While providing further information, Pardeep Kumar Agrawal, Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana said that the Job Fair would be organised at Government College, Phase-6, Mohali on July 30, 2018. He said that Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh would inaugurate the event & hand over appointment letters to the selected students. He said that representatives from several countries would be participating in the job fair to provide jobs to the Youth of the state.
