Punjab govt releases Rs. 1200 cr to clear pending payments under various schemes and development projects

 The Punjab government led by Captain Amarinder Singh on Friday released funds to the tune of Rs. 1200 crore towards pending payments for various schemes and development projects in the Local Government and Health Department besides releasing monthly social security pensions for August worth Rs. 140 crore and Power subsidy worth Rs 300 crore has also been released.

Next Congress government at center will implement welfare schemes for unorganized workers -Sunil Jakhar

Chandigarh: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President and Member of Parliament from Gurdaspur Sunil Jakhar said that now it is sure that Congress will form the government after next General Election scheduled in 2019 and after assuming office at centre Congress will implement welfare schemes for the unorganized sector of the worker to uplift their socio-economic status in the society.

 Giving a further fillip to its development agenda, the Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab government on Monday released Rs. 469 crore towards pending payments for various schemes and development projects, besides clearing the entire pendency of VAT/GST refunds in the state treasury.The funds released today relate to the Local Government and Education departments, as well as pending Social Security Pensions.
